My Journey

From Trauma to Integration

Hi, I’m Sarah

When I started sitting with plant medicine, I had much to heal and integrate:

childhood physical and sexual abuse, PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, narcissistic abuse, breaks with consensual reality, and narcissism, to name a few.

My first ceremonies were not all goodness and light, but terrifying and destabilizing, and necessary. The wake-up call those early experiences offered helped me make major life decisions to break patterns of trauma and abuse so that I could keep myself and my children safe.

In the following years, I sat in ayahuasca and mushroom ceremonies in Oregon, Colombia, Mexico, and Guatemala. I sat with false shamans who abused their clients, with deeply nurturing healers, and with other seekers from all walks of life.

My journey with plant medicine has been intense, uncertain, and tremendously healing. I didn’t have anyone to walk with me, someone who had been through a similar journey from deep trauma to full abundance.

My therapist at the time had little experience with psychedelics; some of my maestros were more wounded than I. I realized that nothing would be more meaningful, now that I had years of lived experience with the highs and lows of plant medicine, than to walk alongside others trying to make huge shifts in their lives.

I trained in Psychedelic Integration and Plant Medicine Safety through two intensive programs with ICEERS.org. I became the Integration Director at the Church of Gaia, one of the first legal ayahuasca churches in the United States.

I’ve held space both at home and abroad for individuals and groups. As a parent of a neurodivergent child, I realized I had already been training as a space-holder for years.

My family and I moved out of anxiety into a full, beautiful, and abundant life in Mexico. Now, it is my honor to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for others who want to understand their own big picture.

For those who keep climbing that mountain, no matter how painful the journey can be, because they believe in something better. Who believe that joy is possible, even when it’s hard to believe they deserve it.

While I have deep experience in depression, addiction, and abuse, I do not seek to fix, control, or heal my clients. I believe you already have everything you need to heal; sometimes, you just need someone to walk alongside you.

Sometimes, you need to be reminded of what was not okay.

Sometimes, you need to be reminded of how hard you try every day.

Sometimes, you need to hear that others have walked similar paths, and that what you’re feeling is normal.

Sometimes, you need space to make sense of a journey that will continue to unfold in its own time.

I am continually amazed by what can emerge between two people practicing deep presence, the emotional, and sometimes mystical space that opens and allows for healing.
